This Beautiful Fantastic (Der wunderbare Garten der Bella Brown)
Bella (Jessica Brown Findlay) liebt die kleinen Dinge, die ihre Phantasie beflügeln, und träumt davon, Kinderbücher zu schreiben. Im echten Leben und in ihrem Haus aber liebt sie Ordnung über alles. Natur ist ihr ein Graus, bedeutet sie doch Willkür und Chaos. Als sie von ihrem Vermieter gezwungen wird, ihren verwilderten Garten innerhalb eines Monats in einen blühenden zu verwandeln, weil ihr sonst die Kündigung droht, bekommt sie unerwartet Hilfe von ihrem mürrischen Nachbar Alfie Stephenson (Tom Wilkinson).
Der besitzt nicht nur einen sehr grünen Daumen und eine Menge Lebensweisheit, er beschäftigt auch den überaus begabten Koch Vernon (Andrew Scott). Doch Vernon ist nicht nur kulinarisch versiert, er hat außerdem ein besonderes Gespür für Menschen. Als er merkt, wie sehr Bellas Herz für den jungen Erfinder Billy (Jeremy Irving) schlägt, hilft er dem Glück ein wenig auf die Sprünge.

Bella Brown is a beautifully quirky young woman who dreams of writing and illustrating a successful children’s book. Despite her abandonment as a child, her OCD, her awful boss at the library and her paralyzing fear of flora and fauna, Bella is down but not out. When she is forced by her landlord to deal with her neglected garden or face eviction, she meets her nemesis, match and mentor in Alfie Stephenson, a grumpy, loveless, rich old man who lives next door and happens to be an amazing horticulturalist.
